Parent Association and Council Minutes

The Parent Council meets 8 times a year to discuss educational information and works in an advisory capacity with the school and EIPS to provide a well rounded education for the students at Ministik. Through various special events and fundraising activities the parents work together to develop a strong sense of community and pride. Many of the projects and fundraising efforts cover the costs of bussing to and from various venues, which is a significant saving to all families.

The PAC meetings are held at 7pm in room 2 - Art Room. All parents are asked to attend as their input is valued.

Last meeting date for the 2012-2013 school year: May 21

View the Parent Association and Council meeting minutes in the documents section of this website.

COSC

The Council of School Councils is a good source of information for parents within Elk Island. The COSC rep is Chuck Clubine.

Curriculum Handbooks

The new Curriculum Handbook for parents is available from Alberta Learning.

Updated on an annual basis, the Curriculum Handbooks for Parents offer in-depth information about what students are expected to learn at each grade level of the curriculum; the Curriculum Summaries provide concise grade-at-a-glance information; and the Curriculum Express for Parents gives a short explanation of the curriculum for parents who are English language learners.  The handbooks, summaries and Curriculum Express will continue to support successful communication with parents.

Outcomes-Based Report Cards

Information on the definitions of achievement levels found in your child's report cards can help you read and use the report card to support their learning.  Alternative acheivement levels are used for Special Education students.
